RPE and compliance: why reliable operational data has become a requirement
Data quality is no longer just an IT topic; it has become a matter of regulatory compliance

From spreadsheet to regulatory report
Submitting operational and financial-economic information requires traceability. When the source database is an editable spreadsheet, every report becomes an exercise in reconstruction, and every reconstruction exercise poses a risk.
Three principles of a reliable database
- Single source of truth: one movement, one record, one origin.
- Traceability: who logged it, when, and what was modified.
- Tariff consistency: version-controlled fee schedules applied automatically.
Positive side effect
Airports that structure their database to meet regulatory requirements discover, in the process, revenue opportunities that were previously invisible: unbilled movements, outdated tariffs, and unrecorded services provided.
